Personal details
Mr Chandak holds two Bachelors degrees, one in Science and another one in Engineering specialised in chemicals. He also obtained a post-graduate diploma in Fuel Efficiency and followed an advanced course for Managers in Energy in Italy.
Professional career
Prior to becoming head of the Implementation Unit in the Production and Consumption Branch of the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics of UNEP, Mr Chandak was Director of the National Cleaner Production Centre and Director of the Environment Division at the National Productivity Council in India.
About the International Environmental Technology Centre
The International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) is a division of UNEP, the UN Environment Programme. It promotes and implements environmentally sound technologies including management systems, for disaster prevention, water and sanitation, etc. A lot of its work has been focused on sustainable production and consumption.
