Pilar Ayuso González

Personal details
Mrs Ayuso González was born in 1942, in Badajoz, Spain. She is an agricultural engineer by profession.

Professional career
Mrs Ayuso has been a Member of the European Parliament since 1999. Full member of the Environment Committee, she is well-known in the European Parliament for her particular interest in waste prevention and recycling issues as well as food safety. Before taking up this parliamentary position she was Director-General for Food Policy and Agri-food Industries at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (1996-1999).
