Mr Mortensen is an Economist by training and has over 15 years of experience working on sustainable development.

Professional career
Mr Mortensen heads the group on Sustainable Consumption & Production (SCP) and Waste in the European Environment Agency (EEA). He joined the European Environment Agency in 2003. Previously, he worked at the OECD, at the Danish EPA and in the Secretariat of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD).
