Mr Rennaud gained a PhD in Biochemistry from Lyon.

Professional career
Mr Rennaud joined Danone in 1983 as a quality manager and he then worked as a production and operations manager and in human resources development. For ten years he worked as a plant and industrial manager in different business units such as water and breweries. He worked for Group BSN before joining Danone.
