Mr Fischer received a Masters degree in Geography and History from the University of Copenhagen in 1982.
Professional career
Mr Fischer has been a senior consultant at the Topic Centre since January 2006. He began his career, working for the Danish EPA's Division for Industrial Waste – from 1993 to 1997 – and then went on to work as the Data Manager in the then European Topic Centre on waste (ETC/W) for two years. Before joining the Topic Centre, Mr Fischer was Head of the Division for Household Waste in the Danish EPA, a division counting 16 experts. Mr Fischer has been deeply involved in the development and implementation of EU and national policy and legislation in the field of waste and resources.
